CORRECTIONS OR ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA:  There were no corrections or additions to the agenda.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES:  Hauge moved and Gohn seconded to approve the minutes from July 15, 2013.  Motion carried by unanimous vote.

FY FINANCIAL UPDATE:  Spargur reported fiscal year to date figures as of July 31, 2013:  year to date revenue of $0.00; expenditures of $30,279.80 and cash balance of $-30,279.80.

LICENSURE STATUS/PROCESS:  The Board office reported the licensure process is going smoothly, however only three SLPA applications had been received as of September 6, 2013.  Schmidt recommended the board office have a reminder sent to the Special Education Directors and placed on the B-3 list serve.  Schultz will have Mitchell Tech remind students to start the application process.

The board office will get forms and the FAQ sheet ready for the Association meeting.

The Board discussed questions that were emailed to the board regarding licensure.  One of the questions addressed creating an affidavit for applicants to sign stating they have worked within the field of Speech Language Pathology to use in case their supervisor isn’t available to sign the Practicum Verification Form.  Mines agreed a notarized statement would suffice for this requirement.

Gullickson addressed her concerns of the move from the DOE Certificate to licensure.  Schmidt advised Gullickson that the DOE Certificate will no longer be required, it will be optional.  Her concerns would be best addressed by the Association instead of the Board of Examiners.

SCHEDULE NEXT MEETING: The next meeting was tentatively scheduled for November 12,  2013 at 9:30 AM CT/8:30 AM MT.  Gohn moved and Heinemeyer seconded to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried by unanimous vote. Meeting adjourned at 9:52 AM MT.
