The South Dakota TB Control Program provides free medication for suspect and active TB cases as well as persons diagnosed with reportable latent TB infection who are residents of South Dakota.
TB medication will only be provided with a prescription from the patient’s clinician and must be provided through a local Department of Health nurse.
All medication is processed and labeled through a contract pharmacy. Medical providers who are requesting a patient be started on TB medications may call the local Office of Disease Prevention (Disease Intervention Offices) or the TB Control Program at 605-773-3737 or 1-800-592-1861 (in-state only).
