Dr. Renae Spohn, Associate Professor, is the Director of the Health Informatics & Information Management Programs at DSU with more than 35 years of experience in the profession. She serves on the CAHIIM Accreditation HIMAC Council, which recommends academic programs for accreditation and she currently serves on the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Dakotas Chapter Board of Directors.

I have coordinated the Pine Ridge Scrubs Camp for the past 4 years (excluding 2020 due to the pandemic). Having grown up on the reservation, I know the value of the exposure to the many healthcare careers/professions and the need to start as early as possible in providing the information to our youth. I appreciate the SD DOH, the venues that we use on the Pine Ridge reservation to hold the camp, and the many students that take the time to attend the Scrubs Camp.
