PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) has issued a warning to the public and medical professionals about the threat of fentanyl mixed with xylazine. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has reported that this mixture is becoming increasingly widespread and poses a significant risk to public health.
Counterfeit pills containing deadly amounts of fentanyl are being seized in unprecedented quantities by the DEA in every state, including SD.
Following the South Dakota Supreme Court ruling on Amendment A, the South Dakota Department of Health released the following statement:
Today, in accordance with SDCL 34-20G and the unwavering commitment of Governor Noem and the South Dakota Department of Health to deliver a safe and responsible medical cannabis program, the first medical cannabis patient cards were printed and issued.
The South Dakota Department of Health would like to remind all South Dakotans to dispose of any unused prescription drugs safely by taking part in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, this coming Saturday, October 23, 2021.
PIERRE, S.D. – Today, the Legislature’s Interim Rules Review Committee approved the Department of Health’s proposed administrative rules to establish a medical cannabis program in South Dakota. The legislature approved 143 of 149 proposed rules.
