The Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory can perform tests on ground water, drinking water, surface water, soil, wastewater or sludge.
The South Dakota Department of Agriculture & Natural Resources (DANR) further explains sampling techniques and safe or unsafe test results. While trace amounts of certain elements are common, many elements can cause damaging effects to organs, bones and the systems of the body if the exposure/contaminant level is too high.
The Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory conducts these tests on over 60 elements including the following:
Alkalinity Aluminum Ammonia Antimony Arsenic Barium Beryllium BOD Boron Cadmium Calcium CBOD Chloride Chromium Cobalt |
COD Conductivity Copper Cyanide Fluoride Hardness Iron Lead Magnesium Manganese Mercury Molybdenum Nickel Nitrate Nitrite |
pH Phosphate Phosphorous Potassium Selenium Silica Silver Sodium TSS Strontium Sulfate Thallium TKN Vanadium Zinc |
