Welcome to the South Dakota Department of Health's webpage on West Nile Virus (WNV) surveillance and dashboard. Here, you will find valuable information about the state's ongoing efforts to monitor and track the real-time spread of WNV.
South Dakota has implemented a comprehensive WNV surveillance program encompassing human and mosquito surveillance. By analyzing data on these two fronts, health officials can identify high-risk areas, implement targeted interventions, and inform the public about potential threats. Our goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents through proactive monitoring and responsive action.
