South Dakota Reports First Flu Death of Season (2020)
Today, South Dakota reported the first influenza death of the 2020-2021 season. The death was reported in Potter County, and the individual was in the 80 to 89-year age group. To protect patient confidentiality, additional information about the deceased is not being released.

A Beagle Dachshund mix puppy approximately 3 months of age in Agency Village has tested positive for rabies and health officials are urging individuals who may have been bitten, scratched or in contact with the puppy’s saliva to call the state Department of Health or their physician to determine whether rabies shots are needed.
