COVID-19 & Respiratory Virus Diseases (CORVD) Dashboard

COVID-19 occurs regularly in our communities and will continue to cause local or statewide peaks of activity, similar to influenza. For that reason, the SD-DOH has aligned COVID-19 reporting with flu. The updated dashboard shows the number of new cases, hospitalizations, and deaths since the last update. During the summer, the frequency of updates will be monthly. During the fall and winter, the frequency of updates will be weekly. As with influenza, the season totals began in October 2022 and continue through September 2023. There is a line graph that shows COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths during the current season.

There is a county tab that allows people to see the count and rate of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths by county and season, as well as a demographics tab that shows the age range, sex, and race/ethnicity breakdowns for cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. The variants tab shows the total and past three-month totals and adds a variant breakdown by week during the season. Lastly, the season tab shows a line graph of cases by current and past seasons.
