SD Department of Health Announces Groundbreaking for New Workforce and Education Center in Pierre
PIERRE, SD – The South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) announces a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to advance public health within the state. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Workforce and Education Center, located in Pierre, will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 11 a.m. CT at the SD Public Health Laboratory. This marks the commencement of a project aimed to revolutionize public health education and workforce development in South Dakota and across the country.
"We are at a pivotal moment in our journey to advance public health in South Dakota," said Department of Health Secretary, Melissa Magstadt. "The construction of the Workforce and Education Center is a testament to our shared commitment to enhancing the health and prosperity of South Dakota. My team and I are proud to lead this historic construction project."
