The South Dakota HIV/AIDS Prevention Program receives federal funds from CDC under Funding Opportunity Announcement PS 18-1802 to provide HIV prevention services. Services offered include Partner Services, HIV testing, Comprehensive Risk Counseling and Services (CRCS), capacity building, HIV Surveillance, and emergency assistance.

HIV/AIDS Prevention Plan & Strategy
The South Dakota HIV/AIDS Prevention Program is committed to achieving the goals of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy:
- Prevent new HIV infections
- Improve HIV-related health outcomes of people with HIV
- Reduce HIV-related disparities and health inequities
- Achieve integrated and coordinated efforts that address the HIV epidemic among all partners and stakeholders
The South Dakota Prevention Plan is like a road map to be used by all the prevention providers in the state. The plan assimilates findings from disease surveillance, a statewide needs assessment, and findings from the research about effective prevention HIV strategies.
