The licensing division of the South Dakota Board of Chiropractic Examiners has the responsibility for licensing qualified chiropractors wishing to practice in South Dakota as well as maintaining the status of active practicing chiropractors as well as those chiropractors licensed but not practicing (inactive) in South Dakota.

Education Requirements
Min # years pre-professional education required for licensure 2 years, however, the minimum requirements for licensure in the state of South Dakota for licensees graduating on or after January 1, 2011, will include a baccalaureate degree in addition to a doctor of chiropractic degree. The Bachelor’s degree may be granted by an accredited undergraduate program or by the chiropractic college or university that can offer a dual degree.
