Administrative Rules of South Dakota 20:50:08:01 - Educational requirements for license renewal consists of 36 hours every three years beginning the date the license is issued. Those optometrists certified to use topical pharmaceutical agents (DPA or TPA) must complete five (5) hours annually of CE related to ocular disease. The five (5) hours of CE annually count toward the 36 hours per three years.
