A roll call was conducted. Present: Duncan Murdy, President; members Nora Hussey, Arvid Liebe, and Steve Statz.
The Board conducted a conference call September 1, 2005, to discuss an application to open a pharmacy at 8031 Stagestop Road, Black Hawk, South Dakota, by pharmacist Jocelyn Prang and partner Gary Brown. The size of the pharmacy was a major concern to the Board because of counseling and patient confidentiality. Access to the furnace and electrical rooms through the pharmacy raised other concerns; therefore, the Board wanted to discuss these issues with Prang.
After a 30-minute discussion and explanation of what Prang was considering, a motion by Liebe to grant a one-year conditional pharmacy permit starting September 1, 2005, and to end September 1, 2006, was approved. Prang shall submit a plan of action and position for future licensure. The motion was seconded by Murdy and passed unanimously.
It was also decided that a Board meeting would be scheduled for September 26, 2005 starting at 8 a.m. At that point the telephone conference call was terminated.
