Position Opening:  Part-Time Paramedic

The Eastern Pennington County Ambulance District, operating as Wall Ambulance, is now accepting applications for one (1) part-time Paramedic. Prospective applicants must be 18 years of age and hold the following unexpired certifications and/or licenses:

- South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners (SDBMOE) EMT-Paramedic License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (or equivalent) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
- South Dakota Driver's License

Wall Ambulance is a 911 basic and advanced life support ambulance service located in Wall, South Dakota, and serves the residents and visitors of eastern Pennington County, including a portion of the iconic Badlands National Park. Mobridge, SD

Mobridge Regional Hospital – Emergency Medical Services Director

Directs the operations of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department based within a Critical Access Hospital, covering a five county area.

The EMS Director is part of the regular work schedule including being on call, on the ambulance and in the ER, so applicants should have proper licensure, (Paramedic or RN) with the ability to work at a high level during trauma's and other calls requiring advanced life support.

Besides working as part of the EMS Crew - The EMS director - Directs the work methods and procedures to be followed by all department members. Monitors departmental activities, and personnel, taking necessary steps to modify departmental operations to meet ever changing conditions. Directs and oversees the schedule and assigning departmental personnel to various duties and shifts. This position is responsible for developing and implementing evaluation plans, performance management, employee engagement, and achieving departmental and individual goals.
The person selected will be responsible for insuring that the department meets the standards and requirements of all accrediting and licensing agencies specific to the Emergency Medical Services area.


  • Works effectively with a variety of employees within the department and across departmental lines.
  • Acts as an  effective communicator to all departments throughout Mobridge Regional Hospital and Clinics
  • Develops talent within EMS staff, including acquiring, engaging and retaining staff.
  • Effectively anticipates obstacles and barriers and works creatively to overcome them.
  • Staffs 24 hour ambulance coverage using full-time, part-time and PRN employees.


  • Minimum of five years in EMS related field as a Paramedic or RN.
  • Prefers two years of management experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of personal computers.
  • Leadership, communication, organizational and management skills required
  • The ability to work with a variety of personalities, and skill sets, bringing out the best in all staff
  • Proven ability to work with organizational leadership in a positive way.
