The Dakota Valley Emergency Services District is currently looking to fill one full time Lead Paramedic position as well as additional full and part time paramedic positions. The Lead Paramedic will work under the direction of the North Sioux City Fire Department (NSCFD) Fire Chief and will be responsible for supervising all other EMS personnel. The paramedics will work under the direction of the Lead Paramedic or the North Sioux City Fire Chief if the Lead Paramedic is not available. Employees will provide a high level of customer service to all patients under their care during medical treatment and transportation to appropriate hospitals. Employees will work within the scope of practice for their license. Employees must have a general knowledge of standard EMS equipment and ambulance maintenance. They must be proficient with computer software and reporting procedures. Employees will also perform non-emergency duties as assigned by the Lead Paramedic or the NSCFD Fire Chief.

  • Will perform a variety of medical procedures, using a variety of medical equipment to include but not be limited to wound care and dressing, starting IV lines, operating a defibrillator, BP machine, glucometer, cardiac monitor, ventilator, I-stat, etc.
  • Collaborate with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and emergency personnel in a variety of situations.
  • Computer proficiency is needed as Mobridge Regional Hospital is part of a sophisticated EMR System.

McCook County EMS Inc. is accepting applications for a full-time Paramedic position. Located in Salem, between Sioux Falls and Mitchell, MCEMS is a privately-owned county ALS service responding to approximately 400 calls for service per year serving all of McCook County and part of Hanson. Scheduling is done on a 24hr basis and is very flexible.

Minimum qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Current National Registry certification and State of South Dakota Paramedic license, or eligible for reciprocity.
Current AHA BLS CPR Certification.
ACLS / PALS Certification.

Vermillion Fire EMS Department is accepting applications applications from experienced Paramedics to fill several part time positions (fixed and flexible weekly schedules). The Department provides emergency medical services to Vermillion and Clay County, South Dakota with three ambulances staffed by part time and paid on-call personnel. In addition to 911 dispatched pre-hospital calls, VFEMSD provides inter-facility transfers from Sanford Vermillion Hospital to Sioux Falls, Yankton, and Sioux City. Vermillion EMS also provides standby services for the Vermillion Fire and Police Departments as well as for events such as the University of South Dakota and Vermillion High School football games, and the Clay County Fair Demolition Derby.

Yankton County EMS
