Tuberculin Skin Testing

The South Dakota Tuberculosis Control Program provides free TB skin testing for all contacts identified as being exposed to infectious TB cases and high-risk persons in Department of Health targeted screening programs.  This is provided by either Disease Intervention Specialists staff or Community Health Nursing staff.  TB skin testing for all other patients is available in most counties through the Community Health Nursing Office (Local offices by county).  Payment for the TB skin test will be based on the patient’s ability to pay but no patient will be denied a TB skin test if they cannot afford it.  The current fee for a TB skin test is $7.00.
