NOTE: Criminal background checks must be submitted to the SD Board of Nursing with all new applications for nurse licensure by examination or endorsement. To request that fingerprint materials be mailed to you, please call the Board of Nursing (605) 362-2760 or send your request via email. The fee for criminal background check processing is $39.25. Any completed criminal background check fingerprint cards received at the Board of Nursing office must be accompanied by the $39.25, made payable to South Dakota Divison of Criminal Investigation (DCI), or the cards will be returned to you, resulting in delayed processing of your South Dakota nursing license.
