Since 2004, the Department of Health has awarded more than $3.3 million in matching grants to help communities, counties and tribes establish mosquito control programs. In 2009, the department distributed $200,000 worth of mosquito control chemicals to local control programs. Grantees selected from two different combinations of commonly used mosquito control chemicals. Each grant package included ready to use ULV adulticide, a larvacide, and either additional larvacide or a barrier treatment chemical.
