Since the 9/11 attacks, the South Dakota Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) has developed many partnerships with healthcare organizations, fire, law enforcement, emergency medical services, long term care facilities, healthcare associations, state agencies and others to develop plans for a coordinated response to a mass casualty event. Throughout the history of the program community and regional partnerships have been encouraged and supported. Partnerships on a local, regional and state level continue to form and strengthen.
