Contact the State Laboratory before shipping a specimen.
Please make arrangements to utilize the state’s courier system when sending in a sample. If it is not possible to use the courier system, then alternatively you may send the sample using an overnight delivery service.
When using an overnight delivery service,use a carrier that will provide for notification of receipt.This is required so that packages can be tracked and undelivered packages may be located quickly.
Package and label the specimen following appropriate regulations for shipping Biological substance, Category B substance. Regulations vary with the carrier and method of shipment. Contact your carrier about their specific regulations.
