More than 28 million Americans of all ages have some degree of hearing loss and that number is expected to rapidly increase to 78 million by 2030. Hearing loss is increasingly recognized as a public health issue. The Children’s Hearing Institute offers the following tips for maintaining hearing of children and adults.

If you have problems hearing, consult a doctor to determine if there is a medical problem that can be medically treated or if an audiological evaluation needs to be done. Noise-induced hearing loss is growing among baby boomers. Of the more than 75 million Americans born between 1945 and 1964, 20.4% or 16 million suffer some degree of hearing loss.
