
Since 2006, South Dakota has provided grants to health care entities, city, county and tribal governments to support local pandemic influenza planning.
In 2006, the South Dakota Department of Health awarded Phase 1 Pandemic Influenza Grants to 21 community planning projects representing about half the state’s counties and two-thirds of its population.

In 2008 Phase 3 Grants were awarded in the same categories as Phase 2.
