South Dakota Family Planning Program

The South Dakota Family Planning Program provides services to all people capable of reproduction who need and desire family planning. Participation is voluntary. Services include:

The program is funded through the federal Title X family planning grant and the Maternal and Child Health Block Grant. Client fees and donations provide remaining program funding.

Apply for Services

  1. Schedule an appointment by calling one of the South Dakota Family Planning Program's full service agencies or a local Community Health Services or Public Health Alliance Offices. If the office does not provide family planning services, it will refer you to one that does.

  2. At your first appointment, you will be asked to complete an income determination form and provide proof of your current income. Your most recent 1040 tax form or pay check stub can serve as proof of income. You will also be asked to complete a client information and informed consent form.
